Remainderor, titles of honour of the temporal nobility of the English nation (quatenus such) have had, or do now enjoy, viz. Dukes, Marquisses, Earls, and Vicounts, from the Time of the Conquest; and Barons from their first Investiture by Charter, whether by Tenure, Writ of Summons to Parliament, or Patent.
