Where I and my brethren the aldermen, calling to our remembraunce the greedy coueteousnes, aswell of the Woodmongers as others the owners and sellers of billets and faggots, brought to this Citie to be solde did on the ix. day of Aprill last call before vs the wardens of the Woodmongers & the greatest number of all such persons as vse to sell billets and faggots within this Citie, and the freedome and liberties of the same, and vppon good deliberation and due consideration had, did then set downe the rates and prices of billets and faggots as followeth. ... geuen at the Guildhall of the sayd Citie the xx. day of July. 1584. and in the xxvi. yeare of the raigne of our soueraigne Lady Queene Elizabeth. &c.
